- Conventional dentures - Recommended for patients with completely healed gums. These can be placed eight weeks after tooth extraction, but your healing time may vary. During your healing time, it's important to practice proper dental hygiene and a diet that will facilitate healing.
- Immediate dentures - An ideal option as the patient does not need to live without their teeth for any period. Immediate dentures can be placed immediately after tooth extraction, but as the jaw continues to modify during the healing process, periodic adjustments will need to be made. Immediate dentures can also be a temporary treatment while waiting for full conventional dentures.

Denture Care and Maintenance
There are a few general rules to abide by when wearing dentures, including:
- Your dentures should be worn continuously in the first few weeks while you get used to them. Afterward, the dentures can be removed during the night for added comfort.
- Place your dentures in a special container fully covered with water to preserve the flexibility when they are not in use.
- Clean your dentures every day with a non-abrasive cleanser and a toothbrush with soft bristles.
- Visit the dentist for routine adjustments and checks on gums and any remaining teeth.
